The Bad Seed and The Good Egg
From the best-selling creators of The Bad Seed, a timely story about not being the perfect grade A!
Meet the good egg. It really is an excellent egg.
But trying to be so good is difficult when everyone else is simply rotten.
While the other eggs in the dozen behave badly, the good egg starts to crumble from all the pressure of feeling like it's perfect.
So, decide enough is enough! It's time for a change ...
The dynamic duo Jory John and Pete Oswald outline a fun and fascinating story that reminds us of the importance of balance, self-care and acceptance of those we love (even if sometimes they are a bit rotten).
Perfect for reading aloud and sharing story time!
This book sends a terrible underlining message with the words the author has chosen to use. The book begins with the "good egg" which has always been good because it has just been born that way ... it is the only good egg out of the box. The rest of the eggs are called bad eggs because they don't always have the most desirable behavior. This is conveying the message that some people are just born good while others are bad. Some people are bad only because of some bad actions and / or behaviors. The book ends with "the good egg" which returns to the "bad eggs" after taking time for himself.
"Learn" that he can't put too much pressure on himself (which is good), but that is okay is also bad sometimes. How come so many people like this message !? This is in no way what I want to teach my children. My children are good children even if they sometimes do things they know they shouldn't, even if they sometimes experience very big emotions, even if it is difficult to learn that we can only control ourselves.
On a separate note, this book arrived significantly damaged as it was not shipped by Amazon with anything to protect it. Needless to say, I already had my reasons for returning promptly.
