This book has been a favorite of my kids' for many years. My oldest is 17 now, but he used to beg to read this book every night starting around 3 years old, and he'd get giddy about finding Goldbug on each page. He was really big into trucks and machinery, so it was the perfect book for him. Now my youngest son, age 6, asks to read it nightly and also loves finding Goldbug, but he's not so much into the trucks, etc., so he focuses more on Goldbug and the pig family. Even if he knows exactly where Goldbug is, he likes to pretend that he's hard to find, or sometimes he'll race through the book to show how fast he can find him. These books are fantastic! I bought this set for my 7 year old grandson. We read two chapters last night and he was completely engaged! On page 3 it says "grandmother, I can see children in my imagination! I see them walking along the street". When we get to the second chapter, it says "Why don't you read a page and I'll read the next page". My plan is working! I hope that within a couple of evenings, he will want to read these books alone while he falls asleep. UPDATE: night 3, we read the first 5 chapters together and wakes up the next morning telling me how the books end!
